West High Reunion

Last weekend was our 1o year HS reunion. I can't believe its been 1o years already. It was so much fun seeing everyone all grow up. I had a absolute blast! I can't wait to get together again with them...

2008 Summer Olympics

Finally some maters....

I've been very patientally waiting for Esmeralda to give me some maters....and I got the first bunch on Monday. Man they were YUMMMY!!

Duke's surgery...

Duke got neutered yesterday. I think it was harder on me than him, he's already running around playing like nothing happened. I'm glad its over, it breaks my heart to hand over my animals and know they are scared. But, thankfully its over and we won't have to go through that again.

Our Aunt Dianna

You don't realize how important family is until something comes along to threaten it. On Thursday our Aunt Dianna will go in for surgery to remove her kidney that has a cancerous mass on it. Once again we pull together to fight this terrible evil that haunts our family. We ask for all of your prayers and thoughts as she goes through this difficult time.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th. Hope everyone had a great day and remembered all our military personal out there fighting for our right to celebrate this day. We went to the movies and saw Wall-E, what a great movie. Seriously, go out and see it. You all know how I feel about movie theatres, and I would go back again to see it.

I had been outside working in the yard and watched the lil munchkin that morning. Busy, busy, but thought I would take a sec and take a pic even if it was a crappy one.

Is It Football Season Yet?

Is it time for Sunday football? I'm starting to go through withdrawels! I can't wait for 8/9's game against the Cowboys! Does anyone want to go to the 8/29 game against the 49ers with me??

Duke swimming

I don't think Duke likes to swim. Although if I had a dog that was 3 times my size trying to drown me I would be scared too. Poor baby, but its just too hot not to get him cooled off. Maybe eventually with some coaxing I can get him comfortable in the pool. I put him on the floaty and let him float around the pool.

All offical in my lab coat, off to my last day of training. Now i start my one on one time in a lab for a week. Then off to my sight the following week.

IT'S OFFICIAL!!

I'M OFFICIALLY EMPLOYED! I signed all my paperwork today, and start training tomorrow. I'm so excited so I thought I would share my badge/mug shot! ha ha...

Life is a dance. You have to take what life has dealt you and figure out what you need to learn from it. I have a horrible habit of not seeing the good in bad situations. But, its something I'm learning to do. You can live your life with regret. It will eat you inside, and make you completely miserable. You have to put your big girls pants on, and figure out what you can learn from it.
I'm very excited for what the future holds. I have had goals, just waiting to take the first step. Next week I start training for my new job, and it starts the first step in this new chapter. I HAVE to remember to take it one step at a time, one day at a time. Next week or month doesn't matter, only tomorrow. Its finally time for me to do what makes me happy, to do what I want to do with my life, to finally figure out who I am and what I want out of life. Finally time to take my life into my hands.

1.) When I was little I used to have a dream that a giant Big Bird was chasing me down the alley that was behind our house.

2.) I'm obsessed with sunsets. I love going new places and seeing what the sunsets look like there.

3.) Sometimes I drive my car like its a race car in the Indy 500. *yes I know you all know I drive crazy, but work with me here*

4.) I have nightmares about having to go back to HS. Then I finally realize I already have my diploma and wake up.

5.) I don't understand why people jump out of planes. Its a perfectly good airplane, no need to go jumping out of it. Was there a fire no one told me about?

6.) My dog actually farts, and audiable fart. No one believes me, but I've heard him do it 3 times now!

7.) I shave my cats in the summer, I can't stand their fur all over the place when its 100+ weather.

1st fishing trip of the year

My dad, nephew, and I went up to Sly lake to do some fishing. Little did we know, someone had told the fish we were coming. Only 5 didn't get the memo. We caught mostly trout, but Brennen caught 2 bass. I must say, I'm not a fan of catching trout. They die too easily trying to get the hook out. Then when you throw them back in the water, they go belly up. It was very sad, I was traumatized. I commited fish murder. Ah, well...eventually they disappeared. Maybe I made a bigger fish's day and they got a free lunch.

I went with my parents down to Newbrighton Beach for the week. It was like camping, but with the beach right there. So much fun!! The weather was B-E-A utiful!! Nice fresh air, great view, and I didn't get hurt! WOO HOO for that! Well, there was the slice my thumb wide open the day before, BUT THAT DOESN'T COUNT! The first day we went to my dad's father's grave in Los Gatos. He died before I was born. Then we went around to all our old memories from when we lived in San Jose. The hospital where I was born, our old houses, old schools, and the best pizza place ever Bogeys. The next day we went to Santa Cruz and played around on the Boardwalk. Then went over to Monterey to see my mom's side of the family at the cemetery. It was Memorial Day, had to pay our respects. The other days we just hung out around camp and relaxed. We had some drama across the way, 4 or 5 guys and 2 girls, and the police and park rangers showed up. Duke got to play on the beach and run in the surf. He LOVES the beach!!! All in all it was a great lil trip!!

Why do we celebrate Memorial Day?

Memorial Day is a United States Federal Holiday that is observed on the last Monday of May (observed in 2008 on May 26). It was formerly known as Decoration Day; and for many years observed on May 30, regardless of the day of the week. This holiday commemorates U.S. men and women who have died in military service to their country. It began first to honor Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War. After World War I, it was expanded to include those who died in any war or military action.


What does Memorial Day mean to me?

The first thing I think of is our current men and women serving our country. Anyone that doesn't support our troops needs to take a hike. I'm so sick of all this "anti american" bologna. Maybe you need to take a history class again, or watch the footage of those plans flying into 3 of our great landmarks. Our neighbor gave his life in Iraq in 2004. Michael Anderson died in Fallujah, Iraq Dec. 14th, 2004 during a house to house searches. I think we all need to take a step back and realize all these amazing people do in the name of our freedom.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I'm thankful for Ashley doing something with my hair, man it was out of control. I hadn't been in to have it done since we went to Disneyland in Dec....so THANKS ASH!!!

SUMMER IS HERE

Today was our first day of 100 degrees. Man, its so hot. I just spent the day out by the pool trying to stay cool. Still trying to get Duke to like swimming. That poor boy is going to melt if he doesn't learn fast. Last night it was so hot I had to put an ice pack under his blanket. Worked like a charm! Best sleep I've gotten in over a week.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I GOT THE JOB!!! I'm so super excited! I got a call this morning extending a job offer. I will know more details later on today. Thanks for all the "good lucks" from you all!! I will update the details when I find out!!

Details: I have to pass the background check *hopefully they won't find out I'm the 07 midnight rabbit murder, lys dont squel*, then Occapational Health will call me in for lab work and a TB test, THEN I go for ornitation, and FINALLY I start training up in Stockton. They told me it all should take 3 weeks to get to the training. When she told me how much an hour I almost dropped the phone $17.41. I will only be working 40 hours or so a pay period for now until they figure out what the work load will be like. Knowing this town and how many county patients there are, I'm sure we will be PLENTY busy. So, wish me luck on this new adventure. I can't wait to start a "big girl" job and this new step in life! GO ME!! I should start orientation in about 2-3 weeks.
